The memory palace Tondu.

An immersive environment which not only shows the fading and recouping of memories. However it also gives the viewer the opportunity to secure their own memories by re-experiencing them. This links directly to the method of loci. An ancient greek strategy of memory improvement which uses visualisations of familiar spacial environments in order to enhance the recall of information.

2 out of the 3 of the selected pictures depict general places / moments that people experienced them-self. The pictures are just there to guide the viewers to their memories. They have the full freedom to complete the pictures with their own memories. The other picture is a very abstract picture of a memory I captured myself. Here the viewer is challenged to create a moment for them-self which leads into a memory.

The Bachelor Project 2022 which origins from the word sequence is a homage to the memories that we all create, lose, regain and lose for good. The fading of memories is based on the deconstruction system created with help of the Fibonacci Sequence. The de-sequenced image_1 becomes the input for the following de- and re-sequenced image. By derailing the sequence the recognition value of the memory decreases and the memory itself starts to fade. Simultaneously it creates new connection and interactions.
